go time...
well, this past week i put my life in boxes and moved back home...unpacked everything...and tomorrow begins the re-packing for mongolia...i have been assured that my luggage WILL get lost...so i'll have to do some strategic packing to hopefully ease my temper if/when this happens...
i found out a few weeks ago about my family...there are five members, three of which are doctors...the oldest daughter is married to a lawyer and the youngest daughter is a student...they live on the 7th floor of a 9 story building...and i could tell you the address but it would mean nothing...i cant really figure it out...i'm hoping that since three of them are doctors they will know more than basic english...that would be beyond incredible...but, if not i guess it will just be more interesting...i've been trying to think of a gift to bring my family and here is what i have come up with...i was told it should be nationality specific so...baseball caps, hershey's chocolate and a book on alabama...good? i'm satisfied...i did however contemplate getting them all piggly wiggly shirts...how awesome would that picture have been? but, they might worship pigs or something...
on a completely different note...my friends from Furman have been making fun of me for having a blog...deep down i know they just wish they had a reason to blog...how do i know this? well, www.sof-sarah.blogspot.com...case in point...hey boogle, don't forget god's great timing...
ok well, wish me happy packing...deuces
practice makes perfect...
don’t get confused…i’m not in mongolia yet…but i just wanted everyone to know that i am in fact preparing myself for this summer in every way possible…this includes perfecting my camel riding form…who knew they gave camel rides at the birmingham zoo?
well, the flights have been booked…and AB (ashley brown) and i head to mongolia in 72 days…i went to the travel doctor a few weeks ago…he gave me a hepatitis A shot and suggested i get a rabies vaccine…that is still in the works though…and despite what my mother thinks, i really am trying to find somewhere to get the vaccine, but no one in greenville seems to be cooperating with me…i haven’t given up yet though…p.s. if rabies shots hurt do not tell me…thanks…i’ve convinced myself that because the vaccine is a series of three shots, they must all be very little and practically painless…so just let me be…
peace
God didn't just open the window...He blew up the building...

So, its official…i am going to Mongolia…my parents called with the incredible news on Sunday…i remained collected on the phone, but i lost it afterwards…i think the tears were a good thing. Less than an hour later, I had already submitted my application online and made a down payment. Isn’t it weird how payment makes things so much more real?? i keep finding myself attempting to completely drown my brain with the idea of really being in mongolia…it’s amazing how right this feels…its like a comforting stomach-flipping feeling…that doesn’t sound that great…but trust me it is…
Now comes all the paperwork…visas, insurance, passports…and lots of reading and preparation. Thankfully, I will not be alone in any of this. Ashley Brown is my partner in crime…hopefully, we will be able to help each other out in our weak moments…yay team…
I have to admit, i never ever thought this would happen…I don’t even think i fully comprehend what God just did…I think that i just expected my parents to become more accustomed to the idea of me going abroad…but actually letting me go was a thought i didn’t let my mind wander to…i thought He would just show me a crack in the window…but He blew the place up…and i am beyond thankful…parents, thank you for loving and trusting me enough to let me go…i really was just happy ya’ll took me seriously…but getting the “ok” was so encouraging…i know that my parents and the rest of my family are going to worry…but i pray that all of you will put most of that aside, and become excited for what the world has in store for me…because i know i am and i want to share in that…
so, i most likely won’t be updating this anytime soon…i was just that eager to get things rolling…and having a blog just makes me feel like i really am going…not just paying some person a million miles away…i will be praying for the Lord to ready all of me…i know i will be challenged in every way possible…i know it will be hard…but i know it will be worth it…
and for those of you who have no idea where mongolia is...
