i spend 5 days a week in the chem lab...super thrilling...i keep having to tell myself that science is cool...and worth dedicating a summer to...it's not either of those things though...my research is coming along...but i won't bore you with that nonsense...instead i'll share with you what i do when my advisor isn't around...i practice drawing cartoon characters on the whiteboards...remember dorie? do ya, do ya do ya? (finding nemo joke...)
and when i'm not playing with toxic chemicals and the weather is nice, i sometimes go strawberry picking...
we celebrated kathryn's (my roommate) 21st bday...there was sweet potato cake...and it was delicious...
two weekends ago we went to susan's mountian house in montreat, nc...it was so wonderful...i saw the biggest shooting star probably in the history of the world and got in some much needed hiking...
on the way back from the mountains we stopped to pick wildflowers...it was glorious

and as you all should know, mom and i went white water rafting last weekend...we had a blast...many laughs...and of course mom cried when she left...ha...but that's expected...here's the link to pictures of us rafting...mom, if you want to buy them then just follow the instructions on the website..click here
and just some food for thought..."Everyone of us is called upon, probably many times, to start a new life. And onward full tilt we go, pitched and wrecked and absurdly resolute, driven in spite of everything to make good on a new shore...it's time to step into the glorious debris...time to take this life for what it is..." -barbara kingsolver-
well...thats all i have to report...i love you all very much...see ya'll on the 4th
